Maybelline Color Elixir Review for Raspberry Rhapsody #30

Maybelline Color Elixir Review

For Raspberry Rhapsody #30

So I'll admit it, I was totally sold the moment that I saw the commercial on this one, and when a $2.00 off coupon arrived in my mailbox, well I simply had to run out to the store and take the plunge. Upon my arrival, my biggest debate then became which color to select, because they had a very wide variety of selection.

I finally settled on Raspberry Rhapsody #30, as shown below.

In application, this shade appears to be a cross between a dark violet, and plum shade. Overall I was pretty happy with the purchase, though I usually do not rock shades quite this dark. Honestly, the swatches do not do it justice when compared in application, however here they are both with and without flash...

**WITHOUT FLASH**

Application- Smooth and soft, I found that this Elixir didn't dry out my lips, or show any flaws if you've got any unattractive winter dryness going on.
Pigmentation- Medium, to high in color appearance, this gloss doesn't require any other primary lip shade worn below it.
Texture/Scent- No smell, texture was very silky and was not sticky
Longevity- Wore a decent amount of time, nothing superb, however most glosses aren't in my personal experience. I was able to do some running around, and come home with some color still in place.

Overall Thoughts..

I will definitely be trying this product in other shades, and my only complaint is that it didn't appear as pink as it looked in the bottle, or even on the swatch when I tried it in the store. I loved the fact that I was able to get it at the fair price of only $4.99 (originally $6.99 at Target, prior to using my coupon for $2.00 off) and combined with the multitude of shade options, I will without a doubt be both buying and trying it again.
